Amethyst, diamond, platinum and 18K white gold vintage ring with expandable arthritic hinge, round cut amethyst measures 9.6mm x 5.8mm and weighs approximately 2.69 ct, 2 house-shaped modified baguette diamonds weigh approximately 0.40 ctw, 16 single cut diamonds weigh approximately 0.32 ctw, size 5.5 and expandable to size 6.25, a wonderful vintage ring that was modified for use with arthritic fingers. Includes an appraisal from the 1980s. Gross weight 3.9 dwt (6.0 g).
CONDITION:
Ring shows light wear, one house-shaped diamond with small chip near tip, the jeweler who originally mated the platinum ring to the arthritic hinge didn't blend it as well as one could hope since file and hammer marks are still visible.
